CSCA 2019 Convention - Sports Communication Interest Group Call for Papers

The CSCA Executive Committee approved a new group, Sports Communication; we will have our first business meeting and sponsor our first programs at the 2019 convention in Omaha. I encourage you to attend our business meeting in Omaha. We will be electing our first slate of officers and talking about the vision for our group. Officers will include Chair, Vice-Chair, and Secretary. Descriptions of these officer responsibilities, along with more information about the interest group are available in the attached by-laws. A call for submissions for the 2019 convention is shown below. Please feel free to contact me with questions and suggestions as we begin our relationship with Central States. I, for one, am very excited.

2019 Central States Communication Association Conference (CSCA)

Annual Convention in Omaha, Nebraska
April 3 - 7, 2019
Dialogue 

The Sports Communication Interest Group is accepting submissions for the 2019 Central States Communication Association convention in Omaha, NE April 3-6. 

The interest group was recently approved by CSCA and will both sponsor its first programs and conduct its first business meeting in Omaha. The Sports Communication Interest Group facilitates discussion of topics and in fields related to interaction of communication and sport. The interest group seeks to promote the importance of sport in society, highlighting its place in communication pedagogy and scholarship. 

Our group invites a variety of submissions (competitive papers, competitive panels, discussion panels, etc.) on any topics related to the interest group’s purpose. Submissions incorporating the conference theme of Dialogue are encouraged. 

The CSCA will be using have a new online submission system. Details will be available on the CSCA website closer to the submission deadline of October 10, 2018 (11:59 CST).
