CSCA 2026 Convention - ERICC updates, reminders, and announcements
Dear ERICC members,
The 2026 CSCA Convention is only a few weeks away, and I look forward to seeing all of you there! Please remember to register if you haven't already, as early bird rates end March 9.
I would like to highlight some of the following important ERICC events in the program:
- Our caucus Business Meeting will be held on Thursday, April 16 from 11 am-12:15 pm in Greenway I. All members are invited to attend to celebrate award winners, discuss various issues pertaining to our caucus, and learn more about ways to get involved. This year, we will discuss and vote on some amendments to the caucus’ by-laws. Per the current by-laws, any amendments must be circulated via email at least 30 days prior to the business meeting, and approval will require the approval of two-thirds of members attending the annual meeting. Therefore, I am included a link with the proposed changes (redlined) for your review. I encourage you to review these changes and come to the meeting with your questions and comments. ERICC bylaws amended with track changes 2026
- Immediately following the Business Meeting (also in Greenway I) will be the ERICC Top Paper Panel from 12:30-1:45 pm celebrating the following top competitive papers:
- Top Paper and Top Student Paper: "Redefining the Collegiate Insider,” Diana Amoako Boakyewaa, Bowling Green State University; Madison Marshall, Southern Illinois University Carbondale

- ERICC is collaborating with the Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) Caucus and the Women’s Caucus to hold a special panel titled “Practicing What You Preach: Collaborative Intersectionality Across Identity-Based Caucuses” to discuss future collaborative possibilities across the three identity-based caucuses of CSCA. We invite all of you to attend and share your thoughts and ideas. It will be held on Saturday, April 18 from 12:30-1:45 pm in Greenway D.
- Our annual Carolyn Calloway-Thomas Inclusivity Speaker Series Keynote Address is on Friday, April 17 from 6:00 to 6:45 pm in the Minneapolis Northstar Ballroom. This year’s speaker Dr. Fernando Delgado, President of Lehman College, will be giving a talk titled “A Winding Road, A Worthy Journey,” in which he will reflect on three decades of his work within the field of communication and, more broadly, higher education institutions, to create ever more space for diverse voices and diverse bodies.
