Hello Members of the Women’s Caucus:
According to the Association's constitution, all Interest Groups, Caucuses, and Sections must have bylaws consistent with the Association's constitution, approved by the Executive Committee, and posted online. However, a survey has uncovered that many groups do not have bylaws in place and that many of the bylaws that are in place are inconsistent. Accordingly, in order to remain a group within the Association and in order to receive slots at upcoming conventions, it will be necessary for all Interest Groups, Caucuses, and Sections to either revise or construct proper bylaws to be approved by each respective group at the Minneapolis conference.
As current chair, and with the assistance of the other Caucus officers, I have drafted our by-laws for your review. We will be discussing the bylaws at our business meeting in Minneapolis, at which time we will be voting on their adoption. If you have suggestions or friendly amendments, please feel free to forward them to me (mmeyer@cnu.edu) prior to the business meeting.
