Dear Popular Culture Interest Group Members –
The time has come to make your final plans for this year’s conference in Madison. I am very excited to say that the pre-conference session I am planning to explore craft beer culture in Madison has sold out. Please know that that if you are still interested in this session, you may register for it and be put on a waiting list. If any spots open up, you would still be able to attend. However, if this is not for you or you want to be guaranteed a pre-conference experience, there are still slots available in the other session where you could learn more about the basic course.
With panels scheduled on everything from craft beer culture to aging superheroes and from professional wresting to celebrity culture, you are sure to find ways to expand your scholarship and/or inspire your teaching with the Popular Culture Interest Group offerings. Make sure to put our Top Paper Panel and Business Meeting on your conference schedule as well. They will take place on Saturday at 9:30 and 11:00am respectively. This is the time to register for the conference as the pre-registration deadline is March 15. Make sure not to miss out on the program this year and the lower pre-registration price by signing up by this date.
You may have already heard the news that the conference hotel has filled! Currently no rooms are available during the scheduled conference dates. Best Western PLUS Inn on the Park

Double Tree by Hilton Madison
At posting time, Priceline.com had a deal for this hotel where rooms could be booked as low as $181/night. Otherwise, we recommend you call 1-866-538-1370 for the best available rate.
The Edgewater
This is a premium hotel where rooms are likely to be more pricy. It is a viable option, however, and could be the perfect choice for those who want to add a little luxury to their conference experiences. Rooms start at $229/night. Please call 1-866-925-8704 for more details.
